She went to Nana Primary School and College of Education Demonstration Secondary School to pursue her studies. Then, Omawumi obtained a law degree from Ambrose Alli University. She showed an interest in music in her youth.


Omawumi started her professional career by joining the reality TV show West Africa Idols. She ultimately ended up as the runner up of the show. Her performances were appreciated by the audiences.
