Early Life

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun was born in Lagos in Nigeria on the 16th of July, 1990. His mother was a Christian while his father identified as a Muslim, having three wives and thirteen children. Balogun had always loved the art of singing and started out his career by joining a boy band named “The Glorious Five”.


They managed to release a debut studio album right before they left the scene. He marks 15 years as the age at which he became serious about his career and sought mentoring from Naeto C. Balogun would later go on to drop out of two universities to pursue his passion and use the moniker “Wizkid”. Many people are interested in Wizkid Net Worth because of his inspiring career.

“Superstar” was Wizkid’s first album, released in 2009. The album featured reputed singles such as “Holla At Your Boy” and “Don’t Dull”. The former single received excellent criticism from youngsters and critics alike.

It even won him a Next Rated award at The Headies 2011, and a nomination at the same. In fact, this one single was received so well that Wizkid continued to receive even more nominations, and has paved a way forward for him.

In 2012, Wizkid released his second album, titled “Ayo”. The album proved to be a commercial hit, with singles like “Jaiye Jaiye” and “Ojuelegba” topping global charts. It features pop singers and rappers like Femi Kuti, Banky W, Tyga and Akon.

The lead single “Jaiye Jaiye” was recorded with Femi Kuti, and is a reflection of all the struggles he faced as a beginning artist. He claims to have chosen Kuti since he did not want to appear as materialistic or girl-crazy.

Somewhere in 2016, he featured alongside internationally acclaimed rapper and singer Drake on his indelible single “One Dance”. This was a major breakthrough for his career, and his assets rose overnight.
