Waje Biography

Waje aka Aituaje Iruobe was conceived on September 1, 1980 in Nigeria. Her parents got separated when she was quite young. When she was in Secondary school, Waje got pregnant which led her to be banned from her church choir. She gave birth to a beautiful girl named Emerald.

Waje went to the University of Nigeria and obtained a degree in social work. She used to perform songs in her school and concerts. Waje also worked as a travel agent.

Career

Waje started her professional career in 2007. Her single ”Do Me” was released which was very successful in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. She competed in the reality TV series Advanced Warning where she finished as a runner-up. She released her debut album W.A.J.E  which brought her into the limelight. In 2018, her second album Red Velvet was launched which brought her further fame and exposure.

Waje and Omawumi have founded a production company named Hermanes Media whose purpose is to create quality TV series and movies. In 2015, Waje expressed her desire to quit music as she felt that she is not getting the support that she deserves.
