 Early Years

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, born January 13, 1961 in New York, started her acting career in the theater group at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she studied theater. She met her future husband Brad Hall there and remains married to him to this day.

Brad, with whom she has two sons, is also a successful comedian and writer and co-starred with Julia on SNL- Saturday Night Live which she was cast on at the young age of 21.  Whilst working on SNL during the years from 1982-1985, Julia met Larry David co-creator and producer of Seinfeld and later Curb Your Enthusiasm, for the first time.  Larry would eventually cast Julia as Elaine in his incredibly successful sitcom Seinfeld.

Born into the Louis-Dreyfus Group

If you think that Julia had to juggle as a waitress whilst working on her acting career in order to make ends meet, you’d be mistaken.  Julia was actually born into money since her family is part of the Louis-Dreyfus Group, international commodities, and shipping conglomerate established in 1851 which now includes real estate, oil, cotton, and orange juice.

Given her family’s incredible fortune, Julia could easily have become a socialite, living comfortably off the family funds, but her $200 million net worth was earned by her own hard work as one of the most successful comedic actresses ever.

So whilst Julia’s personal wealth of $200 million might not put her in the top 50 richest celebrities yet, her potential future net worth could skyrocket in the unfortunate event of her father’s death.

Could her Potential Net Worth Exceed 1 Billion?

Julia’s Father, late billionaire businessman William Louis-Dreyfus, was the chairman of the Louis-Dreyfus group and had an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion (Forbes magazine, 2006). William, who separated from Julia’s Mother, Judith Bowles, when Julia was just one year old, later remarried and went on to have two more daughters, Phoebe Émilie Dominique Louis-Dreyfus Eavis, and Emma R. Louis-Dreyfus with his wife Phyllis Louis- Dreyfus.

With just two half sisters and a step mother to share an inheritance with, it looks like Julia is set to inherit a pretty large portion of the family fortune, which would see her net worth sky rocket past some of the richest celebrities including Paul McCartney, J.K Rowling and maybe even Oprah!

Generosity of Eye

With Julia recently producing a new documentary titled Generosity Of Eye, which follows her father William as he decides to donate pieces from his extensive private art collection to raise money for the charity Harlem Children’s Zone her potential net worth just might start to plummet!

Realizing that his own children would not need the proceeds from his art collection worth an estimated 50 million dollars, William would prefer his art helped break generational poverty rather than hang on the walls of a museum.

Luckily for Julia, she has no need to be the benefactor of her Father’s generosity with her own well earned money being quite enough to get by on.

Most Nominated Comedic Actress in Emmy History

With Julia’s success with her acting, comedy, voice and producing career, she is unlikely to ever see hard times.  Her time on Seinfeld which ran for nine seasons and reportedly saw her earning up to $600,000 per episode, at the time one of the highest paid, have contributed substantially to Julia’s current net worth.

The success of Seinfeld and the fact that the well loved, long-running series still plays all over the world ensures that the pennies keep rolling into Julia’s bank account in royalty payments possibly up to $100,000 dollars a year.

And Julia’s earning potential continues to climb with other successful series like The New Adventures of Old Christine for which she won an Emmy Award and her current role as Vice President Selina Meyer in Veep. Julia’s skills have seen her nominated for an Emmy award 19 times, as an actress; the nominations makes her the most-nominated comedic actress in Emmy history, more than second place, Lucille Ball of “I Love Lucy” fame who gained 13 nominations.

From Riches to Riches Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Net Worth looks sure to Rise

Julia Louis-Dreyfus might have had an easy start to life financially speaking, but that hasn’t stopped her from earning her place in the world.  Instead of living the life of a socialite, Julia has pursued a career as an actress and built a net worth and awards count to prove that she’s worth her pay packet and can live independent of the family wealth.

But you can be sure that when she does receive her portion of her billionaire father’s impressive estate, her mere $200 million net worth will look decidedly small by comparison, even though it represents her long years of dedication to the art of acting in a comedy that will remain memorable the world over.

With her admiration towards her father’s gifts towards breaking the cycle of poverty, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has proven she’s no gold digger and seems likely to carry on in his spirit of generosity. Not only will she make her mark on the rich list but in the hearts of her fans for a long time yet.
