Doja Cat aka Amala Ratna was conceived on October 21, 1995, in L.A. California. Her father’s name is Dumisani Dlamini and her mother’s name is Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. Her mom is a painter while her dad is an actor and producer. Doja has an interest in music, dance, and ballet. Her family lived in an ashram for a while where they practiced Hinduism. She used to skip classes to join online chat rooms.

Career

Doja Cat started her professional career in 2012. She uploaded her single ”So High” on SoundCloud which went viral. At the young age of 17, she signed a deal with RCA Records and Kemosabe Records. She released her debut EP, Purrr!, in late 2012. In 216, she collaborated with Maco on the song ”Monster”.
