A multi-faceted Canadian rapper and TV actor, Drake entered the entertainment industry in the early 2000s. He contributed to the industry as a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur. Drake started his career from Canadian TV dramas and within a short span switched to the music side.
He was passionate about music since his childhood. Numerous solo tapes were released by him which gave him popularity but the launch of So Far Gone, got big success and uplifted his career.

Drake was born on 24th October 1986, in Toronto, Canada. The passion for music was seeping into his blood as his father was a drummer for the legendary rock n roll star. His uncle played bass for a group. He belongs to the ethnic and religious family, his father was an African-American mix and his mother was a Canadian Jew.
Asides everything Drake said, “At the end of the day, I consider myself a black man because I’m more interested in black culture, being Jewish makes me unique”.
He attended Forest Hill Collegiate Institute and Vaughan Road academy for high school but sadly dropped out. He did a high school diploma in 2012.
He started his career as an actor. In 2001, a friend of Drake’s father offered him to appear in the Canadian teen drama series “Degrassi: The Next Generation”. He worked in the drama for seven years 2001-2009. Also, he appeared in several other dramas including, Sophie, Soul Food, and Being Erica.
Along with fame from Degrassi, he started capturing opportunities in the hip-hop world. He started doing his debut as self-released mixtapes. Later on, he released an EP named “So Far Gone” and consequently launched his debut studio album in 2010, titled “thank me later, succeeding albums including, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, and Views.
The specificity of his songs was egoistic lyrics and his personal experiences and relationships with women. His debut mixtape was “room for improvement” which gave him recognition as a singer. Subsequently, he released several other solo tracks, Replacement girl, Comeback season and managed to get October’s Label to launch mixtapes.
His solo track “Find your Love” hit in the top 10 charts in Billboard Hot 100. His third album nothing was the same, occupied seven single tracks and all of them attained commercial success.
In 2016, his fourth album “View” was released. It has five singles tracks among them 2 were award winners. The tracks were featured by Kanye West, Jay Z, and Rihanna.
His last release was a playlist “more life” in 2017.
Drake’s debut album got No. 1 position on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album grossed huge as 1.83 million copies were sold. The debut managed to attain platinum certification in the US and Canada.

Coping with his fame the second album also received No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart a platinum certification in UK, USA, and Canada. While 631,000 copies of the album were sold within a week.
The third album receives the attention from numerous magazines as the best album of the year along with huge commercial success.
Drake was nominated 35 times while he acquired 3 Grammy awards, one for his album Take care as best rap album in 2013. The other two were gained by the track Hotline Bling in 2017.
