When it comes to filmography, no one can beat Bollywood. Already, we have seen stars like Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt take the internet by storm with their gorgeous acting and chic looks. However, as the women make their way to our hearts, the men make no exception.
It was one such male movie star who, in 2003, was noticed by a film producer and hired for a role in the romance “Ishq Vishk”.
Shahid Kapoor had always been a child of interest. He was born on the 25th of February, 1981, and grew up in New Delhi. He witnessed the separation of his parents, followed by the remarriage of his father and the devastation of his mother.
As a child, he had always been inspired by his grandparents, who wrote articles for Sputnik. Kapoor had always been a dancer, enrolling in the Shiamak Davar’s Dance School and pursuing a career in the film industry. In the late 90’s, he featured as a back dancer in the movies “Taal” and “Dil To Pagal Hai”.
Following his success as a dancer, he proceeded to appear in various advertisements for Pepsi, KitKat and Close-Up. In 2003, he gained the attention of famous film producer Ramesh Taurani, who insisted that he star in his romantic film “Ishq Vishk”, which he did, following a remodelling of his entire physique.
Since then, Kapoor has continued to work in numerous blockbusters and movies set in both modern and ancient times. His first most prominent role was in the 2006 thriller “36 China Town” and in the romantic comedy “Chup Chup Ke”, in both of which he co-starred alongside Kareena Kapoor.
In the thriller, he stars as one of the suspects who is speculated to have murdered the heiress. In the comedy film, his role is of a depressed love fanatic who falls in love with a mute woman, played by Kareena Kapoor. Both the films gained worldwide success and reception.

However, as is with most unstable careers, his earnings saw a pitfall in 2010 when, due to lack of confidence and perhaps the necessary “flair” for the roles. His feature films like “Chance Pe Dance” and “Milenge Milenge” were considered commercially unsuccessful, and Kapoor’s performances were described as “uneven” and “miscast”.
Following this, his collaboration with Priyanka Chopra in “Teri Meri Kahani” received the same negative criticism.
However, his career apexed as he released his 26th feature film “R…Rajkumar”. The movie, despite receiving negative feedback from critics and movie fans, was considered as Kapoor’s highest grossing film, and he is best known for his role as a love-crazy Romeo Rajkumar.
Shahid Kapoor also stars in the Indian Hamlet adaptation “Haider”, for which he gained worldwide recognition.
How Rich is Shahid Kapoor?
Despite the acme and pitfall and second acme of his career, his assets remained for the most part untouchable. His assets are worth $28 million (Rs 190 Crore), and include a fleet of luxury cars and a Harley Davidson.
Kapoor certainly has shown his inner passion, and we wish him success for the future!
