Kcee Biography

Kcee aka Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo was conceived on April 18, 1979 in Ajegunle, Nigeria. His dad was a DJ. Information regarding his mother is scarce. Kcee used to sing in his church choir. He met his friend Presh there and they formed a band. He attended schools in Ajegunle to pursue his studies.

Career

Kcee and Presh founded a band together named KC Presh and entered in a Star Quest TV reality series. They ultimately emerged as the winner of the show. They released several songs and albums such as No Time, Get Ready, Everybody Dance O, and Joyful Noise together and performed for 12 years. Eventually, they broke up and Kcee went on to pursue a solo career. He signed to Five Star Music which is owned by his younger brother E-Money.

Kcee released his solo debut album Takeover in 2013. In 2017, he released his second album Attention To Detail. Kcee has performed at several festivals and events for example AMAA Awards, Nite of a Thousand Laugh, AY Live, Laff 4 Christ Sake, Play Safe Rave Tour, and Calabar Xmas. 

His most famous songs are Cultural Praise, Bobo, Pull Over, Isee, Limpopo, Bullion Squad, Psycho, Ogaranya, Tender, Fine Face, Doh Doh Doh, Feel It, Love Boat, Dem Go hear, Turn By Turn, Oh My Baby, Sweet Mary J and We Go Party.

Kcee has worked with numerous artists such as Bracket, Femi Kuti, Oliver D Conque, Flavour, Iyanya, P-Square, Phyno, Olamide, Tekno, Davido, E-Money, Lagbaja, Skiibii, Akoo Nana and Harrysong. His genres are African popular music and he is signed with the label Five Star Music.

Kcee has endorsed several companies and brands. In 2013, MTN signed a multi-million dollar deal with him. In 2015, he signed a contract with Magnum and telecommunication company MTN.
