Early Life

Akbar was born on 6th May of 1979 in Los Angeles of California. He has attended Crenshaw High School. He was not a footballer but more a basketball player in his school days. He was a star player for his school team and has won several State and City championships with his other teammates. His game has made his way to become a prime choice of the selectors of all-league and also for all-conference. His brother Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila is also a footballer.

Akbar went to San Diego State University on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in communication and new media studies. Then, he enrolled at the Wharton School of Business to complete a certified entrepreneurship program.


Akbar started playing soccer from his college days and has continued the journey up to a professional level He played in Oakland Raiders and his role was the undrafted free agent for the team. Not only that, but Akbar also was on the field for Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. But suddenly he shifted his choice of game from Basketball to football in his college days as he got the scholarship for football at his college.
